Upstart Lassiter looks to derail title pursuit of championship-tested Walton

It has been two years since Walton has lost to a team from Georgia, and it has dropped only four sets total against intra-state opponents this season. Lassiter is one of those teams with a set win against the Lady Raiders, and the Lady Trojans will hope for three more when the teams play for the Class AAAAAAA state championship at 6:30 p.m. tonight at Marietta.

“We know that Walton is for real,” Lassiter coach Greg Hodge said, “but we don’t want to make this bigger than it is. While it is a state championship, it’s still just a volleyball match.”
